Our pastoral staff is here to walk with those who are hurting and in need of support. However, as our church grows the need for experienced counselors grows as well. We believe that people in the church struggle with the same issues as people outside the church. So, if we want to look different as a collective group of Christ followers, we need to seek help sooner.

Monday 10:00 AM - 7:00 PM

Wednesday 11:00 AM - 5:00 PM

Thursday 9:00 AM – 7:00 PM

Kayla Bishop, MA, LMFT-Associate

Liberty University, MA, Marriage and Family Therapy
Stephen F. Austin State University, BSW, Social Work

Kayla is a Licensed Marriage and Family Therapist Associate at Praise Professional Counseling. Growing up in Newton, Texas, living in other local towns, and calling Beaumont her home for the past 3 years, makes her a long time resident of Southeast Texas. She loves time with her family, especially her nieces and nephews, and enjoys different hobbies based on the season.

Kayla is currently supervised by Marion Marold Vickerman, LMFT-S, while completing her clinical hours.  She uses a solution-focused approach to therapy and works with adolescents, adults, couples, and families. Before her career in counseling, she worked as a social worker advocating for the best interest of children in foster care. Kayla was drawn to counseling because it allows her to help clients make the changes they want to see in their lives. She helps couples discover how they can make small changes in their interactions and communication that significantly impacts their relationship. She helps families learn that each person is important in the family system, and everyone can learn to do something different that creates change and growth in the family.

Each counseling session will be 50 minutes in length with the exception of the first session. The first session to be closer to 1.5 hours, as we will go over forms, history intake, and discuss counseling goals.

“With Praise Professional Counseling, I was invited to share my pain and struggle. I was listened to without judgement and began to grow as a person and in my faith. I am grateful for them.”

“With Praise professional counseling I was able to work through anxiety and negative thinking patterns. Cassandra listened without judgement and provided me with activities to help conquer my negative thoughts. I was at the lowest point I had ever been, mentally, and didn’t think I would be able to overcome it. Learning how powerful my mind is, more about my personality and having someone to guide me through it really made a difference. I highly recommend Praise counseling.”
