Our pastoral staff is here to walk with those who are hurting and in need of support. However, as our church grows the need for experienced counselors grows as well. We believe that people in the church struggle with the same issues as people outside the church. So, if we want to look different as a collective group of Christ followers, we need to seek help sooner.

Clinical Director: Jenny Broaddus, MS. Ed., LPC-S
Counselor/Clinical Supervisor

Baylor University, MS. Ed., Community Counseling and School Counseling
University of Houston, Licensed Professional Counselor Supervision Certification
University of Mary Hardin Baylor, BS., Major: Psychology, Minor: English

Jenny is a Licensed Professional Counselor who has been providing counseling services to adolescents and adults since 2002 in a variety of settings including community centers, school districts, and most recently private practice (10 years). Jenny is married to her high school sweetheart, Brian Broaddus, MD. She has 6 children, 3 boys and 3 girls.

She is excited to be a part of the staff of Praise Church so she can help with personal growth of individuals in the Beaumont community. Professional Counseling within the church is such an organic partnership. Praise Professional Counseling believes strongly in the empowerment of speaking to someone, like a counselor, in times of life when things just aren’t so easy to navigate. Talking to a counselor is quite a bit different than speaking to a pastor, a family member, a coworker, or even a friend. It is nice to know that one has an advocate and guide on his/her side; someone there to listen, reflect feelings, and help reframe life circumstances. We hope you will consider us when looking for that someone.

Specialties: Adults, Teens, Marriage/Family, Women’s issues, Career.

Cassandra is a Licensed Professional Counselor-Intern working under the supervision of Jenny Broaddus, Licensed Professional Counselor-Supervisor at Praise Professional Counseling.  Married for almost twenty-four years, Cassandra and husband Parrish have two adult daughters and now enjoy a son-in-law and three grandchildren as well.  When not spending time with family, Cassandra and Parrish love traveling and are always planning their next adventure.

After raising their daughters, Cassandra felt called to serve others through counseling.  She returned to school and has recently graduated with a Master of Education in Clinical Mental Health Counseling from Lamar University.  Her experience includes work with at-risk youth and an internship at an inpatient behavioral health facility counseling clients of all ages.  She is now excited to join the staff at Praise Church and follow her calling to walk with others during difficult times in their life.

Each counseling session will be 50 minutes in length with the exception of the first session. The first session to be closer to 1.5 hours, as we will go over forms, history intake, and discuss counseling goals.

“With Praise Professional Counseling, I was invited to share my pain and struggle. I was listened to without judgement and began to grow as a person and in my faith. I am grateful for them.”

“We contacted Jenny for advice when a family situation escalated to a new level. We felt somewhat desperate as the issue was a long-term one about which we had sought the Lord diligently. However, we had come to the point that we needed advice from “someone with skin on”. Wanting to please God in our hearts, words, & actions, we needed guidance! We could not be more thankful for Jenny. She listened, kindly asked pertinent questions, helped us to sort through our thoughts & emotions. She did this in a very professional & caring way, never with condemnation, but rather encouragement. We visited her for about three months. It was life changing in some ways & very reassuring. Our situation has not changed, but our hope is still in the Lord for a good outcome. We have been immeasurably helped in dealing with it while we wait. We would not hesitate to go back to her or to recommend her counseling to anyone in need.”

We’ve had a really tough year as life surprises us with immense responsibilities and trials. Jenny and her knowledge of Psychology and specialty with post-partum depression has been a blessing to our family, marriage, and relationship with God. After several counselors-we’ve finally found one that not only meets our psychological and emotional needs, but also our spiritual needs. We have witnessed her devotion of praying for us pre-session, her grand professionalism , her sweet compassion, and sometimes hard to swallow truth and honesty. We say that because we started seeing Jenny in hopes to grow and make a change in our lives and marriage.
